Virtual TwinsFest set to take place Jan. 30

January 21st, 2021

MINNEAPOLIS -- The circumstances surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic won't allow for fans to pile into Target Field for a weekend of TwinsFest this year, but the Twins are still working to bring the team into living rooms around Twins Territory with a full day of virtual TwinsFest activities next Saturday, Jan. 30.

A day of activities featuring club officials, players, coaches, alumni, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and country artist Tim McGraw will span from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT, with live streams available via the Twins' social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. News Talk 830 WCCO will also simulcast the event on radio starting at 11 a.m.

As usual, the virtual TwinsFest will also act as a fundraiser for the Minnesota Twins Community Fund through an auction available online from Monday to Jan. 30, with funds from sales of memorabilia, in-person experiences, autographed baseballs and bobbleheads going toward efforts to benefit lives and communities across Twins Territory.

Activities will include a group reading of "The Sandlot" via Zoom, international players discussing communication, a hitting demonstration and class, a town hall with organizational leadership and sitdowns with various players, among other sessions oriented towards kids. Invitations to participate in Q&A sessions and interactive sessions will first be offered to season ticket holders and brand partners.

The full lineup of the day's events can be found at twinsbaseball.com/fanfest and the auction can be found at twinsbaseball.com/twinsfestauction once it gets underway next Monday.
