Downtown Minneapolis is the place to be the weekend of August 7-9! With three Banana Ball games at Target Field, two Lynx games at Target Center, the final weekend of Wicked at the Orpheum and more downtown events, it is important for fans to be prepared and plan ahead.

Traffic control personnel will be managing intersections around the stadium. Please follow their directions to help ensure traffic moves safely and efficiently. 

Banana Ball Street Closures and Reroutes around Target Field

• Full closures: North 7th Street between 2nd Avenue and 5th Avenue, and Twins Way between North 7th Street and North 10th Street. These closures begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6 and are scheduled to end at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9.
• Temporary closure: North 5th Street will be used as an emergency vehicle detour from 1st Avenue to 6th Avenue during event hours as noted below: 
  • Friday, August 7: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 8: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 9: 9:00 m. – 6:00 p.m.
• ADA Drop Off will be located at Target Field Station and will only be accessible from 5th  N.

Construction Closures in Immediate Area

• Hawthorne Ave N between 8th St N and 9th St N
• On ramp to 394 from Linden Ave N near 12th  
• 3rd St between Hennepin and 2nd Ave N will have construction, but all lanes of vehicle traffic are expected to be open.  The bike lane will be detoured to Washington.

Access to and from Downtown

• 394 has construction and limited lanes; however, all exits into downtown are open
• I-94 is open
• 35W is open
• Access to north Minneapolis from downtown is limited with 5th St and 7th St closed.  Please plan accordingly.

Early Parking Ramp Information (North Loop Green)

• We encourage fans to arrive early to grab their Banana Ball merchandise at Target Field Station! Parking at the North Loop Green ramp will be available prior to daily 5th Street closure.

Parking Ramp Information (ABC and Hawthorne)

• Follow instructions on Variable Message Signs (on traffic signals). They will be updated to guide fans to available parking. 
• Have payment (credit card) ready when entering ramps to expedite paying at entry  
• Follow Target Field bag policies for Banana Ball games. 
• Digital signs in the skyways have wayfinding to Target Field and all downtown venues.

Metro Transit Notice

Buses will be replacing METRO Blue Line trains starting June 29 between Target Field and Mall of America stations. NOTE: Replacement bus timing can vary and trips take longer because of needed routing and traffic conditions. Please plan extra time for your trip.  The LRT replacement bus boarding area is located in Ramp B.  

• The Green Line is unaffected during this time.

Bike Parking

Will be available at the bike racks located on the North Side of Ramp A, along Twins Way between North 7th St and N 10th
