Fletcher day to day with left knee contusion

Angels second baseman exits in 4th inning vs. D-backs on Wednesday

PHOENIX -- Second baseman , one of the Angels' most productive hitters of late, was removed from Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the D-backs in the fourth inning with a left knee contusion. He is day to day.
Fletcher fouled a ball off his leg before hitting a single to center field on the next pitch in the top of the fourth. But he was noticeably limping when he broke from first base on ' double-play grounder to shortstop. In the bottom of the inning, Fletcher was replaced at second by .
Fletcher, who was 1-for-2, had three hits and two RBIs in a 5-4 loss at Arizona on Tuesday. He has 14 hits in his last 32 at-bats and is hitting .361 with runners in scoring position.
"I think I've been getting more comfortable here, and playing every day is nice," said Fletcher, who has received more playing time since Zack Cozart was lost for the season in mid-June. "I just try to do my best every day."
The Angels were already playing without offensive stalwarts  and , both on the disabled list.
