Community and Foundation Initiatives
Hospital Visits

Throughout the season, Angels players and their wives visit local children's hospitals including MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach. These visits are to lift the spirits of the patients and their families. The players and coaches make special appearances to distribute Angels items, sign autographs, and visit with the children and their loved ones.
Adopt-A-School

Each year, the Angels select local schools for the Adopt-A-School program. Awarded schools receive a $2,500 grant to go towards literacy and other necessary programs. As part of the Adopt-A-School program, students also receive an Angels specialty item. Additionally, each school is given an allotment of tickets to a future game to be used for incentive programs.
Angels 8th Grade AVID Scholarship

The Angels 8th Grade AVID Scholarship was founded in 2006 by the Angels Baseball Foundation in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Education and the non-profit organization Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID).
Candidates are selected through an extensive process among 65 middle schools throughout Orange County. Scholarship funds are awarded to five to ten outstanding 8th grade AVID students and are held for them in a trust until they graduate from high school and enter an accredited university. All nominees also receive a laptop as a form of encouragement.
Over the years, the scholarship has been awarded over 100 outstanding 8th grade AVID students.
Angels College Scholarship

The Angels College Scholarship was established in 2016 as a four-year renewable gap scholarship for high school seniors. Scholars are nominated and selected based on academic achievements, financial need, community involvement, and the desire to achieve a bachelor's degree.
Funds are applied to primary undergraduate expenses such as tuition, room & board, healthcare and textbooks. Scholars also receive direct access to the Angels Baseball staff as they navigate through college and learn to become financially independent and responsible adults.
Scholars have attended 41 colleges and universities throughout the United States, including Harvard College, Dartmouth College and Stanford University. Angels Scholars are studying and excelling in fields such as business, nursing, engineering, computer science, and political science.
Since its inception, 105 scholarships have been awarded.
Bank of America Challenger Classic

Back-to-School Drive

Staff members from the Angels help distribute a full outfit of clothes to 800 kids from Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA and other local non-profit organizations. Each child receives socks, shoes, underwear, pants, a shirt, a pair of shoes, and tickets to a future Angels game. In addition, kids are treated to lunch at the ballpark, where they can enjoy the music and activities.
Kids Holiday Party

Every holiday season, the Angels Baseball Foundation, the Angels, and Angels Radio AM830 aim to make the holiday season brighter for more than 250 underprivileged kids by hosting a Holiday Party. At the end of the night, each child receives a pair of pajamas, a toy, and warm holiday wishes from the Angels. The Holiday Party is held at Angel Stadium, where the kids are able to meet Angels players and alumni, run the bases on the field, make ornaments and cards to give their families, and play in the "snow!"
