The Cubs’ Wild Card Series matchup is set.
Following a Padres win and Phillies loss on Saturday, the Padres will host the Cubs for the three-game Wild Card Series, beginning in San Diego on Tuesday. It marks the second straight year that San Diego and Chicago will meet up in the Wild Card Series. The Cubs took last year’s series in Chicago, winning the first and third games of the series before advancing to the NLDS in an eventual series loss to the Brewers.
It should be another fascinating matchup, with the Cubs leading the Majors in various categories both on offense and on defense. With likely NL MVP Pete Crow-Armstrong going supernova this season, he’s going to present problems for the Padres on multiple fronts.
