Earned his high school diploma in 2024 and surprised his mother, Rosa, with a trip back home to the Dominican Republic for his graduation ceremony. He completed courses, usually two at a time, while working around his busy baseball schedule. Says math was his toughest subject...He is close friends with Giants shortstop Willy Adames. Both grew up in Santiago, located about two hours north of the Dominican Republic capital of Santo Domingo.
