A mid-summer promotion to Double-A has done nothing to slow down Caleb Bonemer.
The top White Sox prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 16 overall homered for the second straight night on Wednesday, aiding Birmingham to an 8-6 win over Montgomery at Riverwalk Stadium.
Bonemer took off in the top of the fourth inning, hammering the first pitch of his at-bat for a two-out, two-run shot. It was Bonemer’s fifth long ball in July and his 24th overall this season, which leads all White Sox prospects.
The shortstop -- who won’t turn 21 until October -- also roped a one-out double in the third, scoring on an Alec Riley single in the ensuing at-bat.

Bonemer finished 2-for-5, giving him multiple hits for the sixth time in 14 games this month. That has equated to a .979 OPS in July.
Since earning the bump to Double-A on June 17, Bonemer has slashed .278/.381/.495 with six home runs and 17 RBIs. The 2024 second-rounder owns a .919 OPS across two levels in 2026.
