Dodgers' No. 8 prospect Davalan caps huge week with 3-hit, 3-RBI outing

Davalan, the Dodgers’ No. 8 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 82 overall, collected three hits and three RBIs on Sunday in an 8-7 loss for High-A Great Lakes against Lansing at Jackson Field. Additionally homering for the second straight night, Davalan had at least two hits in all six games he played over the past week.

The 22-year-old outfielder got his first knock on Sunday in the second inning, pulling an RBI triple down the first-base line. That gave Great Lakes a 2-1 lead, and Davalan scored on an Eduardo Quintero (LAD No. 3/MLB No. 19) sacrifice fly in the ensuing at-bat.

Davalan went deep in the fourth. With two outs, he deposited a 1-0 pitch to deep right field, extending Great Lakes’ lead to 4-2 at the time. It was the 16th long ball of the season for Davalan.

Lansing took the lead with a four-run fifth, but Davalan helped Great Lakes stay in range with his third hit, coming in the sixth inning. With two outs and runners on the corners, the lefty pushed a line-drive single to center field, scoring one.

Going 3-for-5 in total, Davalan finished the week of July 19-July 26 with a blistering .481/.517/1.037 slash line. Eight of his 13 hits in the span went for extra bases, including three home runs. He also had nine RBIs and scored eight runs.

Davalan, the 41st overall pick in the 2025 Draft, has enjoyed a breakout in his first full season in professional baseball. His latest hot streak has him at an overall .918 OPS in 84 games.
