Dodgers open facilities for rehab, treatment

May 25th, 2020

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers management has opened Dodger Stadium and Camelback Ranch to players for medical and rehab purposes while strictly following MLB, local, state and CDC recommendations.

The soft opening is a step toward preparing players for a potential return to the field. Spring Training was suspended by MLB on March 12 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Among the players who were dealing with injuries when Cactus League play was halted were outfielder (left side muscle soreness) and pitchers (side muscle soreness) and (lower back and groin tightness). None of them played in a big league game, although Pederson had advanced to play in Minor League games just before camp was disbanded.

At the time, Pederson was expected to be ready by the originally scheduled Opening Day, while May and Nelson were not.
