The Dodgers reinstated Joc Pederson from the family medical emergency list on Monday, a day before Los Angeles opens its final homestand of the regular season against the A's.

In the corresponding move to make room for Pederson, the Dodgers optioned infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry to the team's alternate training site.

Pederson was placed on the family medical emergency list last Wednesday. Manager Dave Roberts said the next day that the Dodgers hoped to have him back for Tuesday's series opener at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers enter their last homestand with the best record in baseball at 38-16, and they have clinched a postseason berth.

The 28-year-old Pederson is hitting .174 with six home runs and 12 RBIs in 38 games this season.

McKinstry, ranked the Dodgers' No. 19 prospect by MLB Pipeline, was called up and made his MLB debut in Pederson's absence. The 25-year-old doubled for his first career hit on Sunday and went 2-for-7 in four games.
