Here's the Dodgers' 2024 Spring Breakout roster

March 7th, 2024

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Though the Dodgers will be getting ready to open one of the most anticipated seasons in franchise history with the two-game Seoul Series against the Padres in South Korea, the organization also will have a set of eyes on what will be happening back in Arizona.

The Dodgers, like every other organization, will be participating in the inaugural Spring Breakout, which is an event that will allow each system to showcase some of the best talent in the Minor Leagues.

While all the attention is, rightfully, on the Major League team, the Dodgers have a lot to offer in the Minors, as well. In the Spring Breakout game against the Angels on March 16 at Tempe Diablo Stadium, the Dodgers will feature a star-studded group of catchers, which will be led by , the No. 1 prospect in the organization, according to MLB Pipeline.

In a short period, Rushing has become one of the best hitting prospects in the Minors. Behind him, however, is No. 10 prospect Thayron Liranzo, who has also proven he can be a real threat at the plate. Between Rushing, Liranzo and No. 28 Yeiner Fernandez, the Dodgers have a lot of depth at the catching position. That isn’t even including Diego Cartaya, who won’t participate in the event as he continues to work through a nagging back issue that limited him in big league camp.

On the mound, the Dodgers will also have a lot to look forward to, particularly No. 8 prospect Jackson Ferris, who was the headliner in the return from the Cubs in the deal that sent Yency Almonte and Michael Busch to Chicago. It will be the first time the left-handed Ferris suits up for the Dodgers in game action.

One other name to watch is outfielder Josue De Paula, who many scouts believe has the best hit tool in the organization, even as a teenager. The Dodgers’ No. 4 prospect got a taste of Cactus League play for the first time in his career. He responded by smacking an impressive opposite-field homer.

There should be plenty of talent on display for a deep Dodgers farm system.
