Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, suffered Friday night stealing second base in Texas. The move is retroactive to Saturday.

Edwin Ríos, who had been on the injured list with a left hamstring injury since Aug. 17, was activated to replace Turner, who was slashing .282/.384/.410 in 32 games with two homers and 20 RBIs.

Turner has a history of hamstring injuries, serving three-week stints on the injured list in 2014 for his right hamstring and in '17 for his left hamstring. He missed a game last week after being hit on the back of the left hamstring by a pitch.

Turner played both games of Thursday’s doubleheader in San Francisco, serving as designated hitter in the nightcap. He was hit by pitches in both games.

The 35-year-old Turner is in the final year of a four-year, $64 million contract.

Ríos was a slugging machine before the injury, with a slashline of .276/.323/.690 and three home runs in 29 at-bats.
