GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Dodgers had to scratch their starting pitcher for the second consecutive day on Thursday as a viral epidemic continued to wreak havoc on the club's Spring Training camp.
Thomas Stripling, slated to start Thursday against Cleveland, was replaced by non-roster invitee Manny Banuelos one day after Hyun-Jin Ryu's start was taken by Wilmer Font.
Manager Dave Roberts said "more than a dozen" players were out on Thursday, an improvement from two dozen who were sent home on Wednesday.
Ryu returned to workouts, but Roberts said he wasn't sure when Ryu or Kenta Maeda, also sick, would make their next starts.

The Dodgers believe the camp was hit by a norovirus and had the main building scrubbed by a hazardous materials team. Several players said they believe a jacuzzi might have been the site of transmission. Symptoms -- vomiting, diarrhea, chills, fatigue, muscle soreness -- can persist for up to three days. Only uniformed personnel (players, coaches, trainers) have been stricken; none of the office staff, which also works in the building that houses the clubhouse, dining room, weight room and jacuzzi, have been affected.
Yasiel Puig returned to the lineup after missing Wednesday's game. Other regulars able to play on Thursday were Chris Taylor, Justin Turner, Matt Kemp and Yasmani Grandal.
Among players still sick are Chase Utley, Corey Seager, Austin Barnes and Enrique Hernandez.
