LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig (Wild Horse) recovered from a fielding misplay and turned it into an assist in Sunday's 7-3 victory over the Padres.
With two outs in the fourth inning and Manuel Margot on first base, pitcher Robbie Erlin lined a single to right field. Puig mishandled the ball and it caromed to his right, but he retrieved it and, with a powerful throw, nailed Margot trying to advance to third base to end the inning.
It was the 10th outfield assist of the year for Puig, tied for second in the Majors.
