2025

Had an injury-marred season, landing on the IL for lengthy stays three different times for three different injuries...Appeared in only 19 games for SF...Started the season on the 10-day injured list with a left hand fracture...Sustained the injury in a spring game on March 21 against the Guardians while trying to make a catch in right field...Was a candidate to be the team’s designated hitter and was having an excellent spring with two home runs and 14 RBI while hitting .302...Underwent successful surgery on March 28 with Dr. Steve Shin in Los Angeles to repair his left-hand fracture...Began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on May 10 but it was stopped due to his injury causing him some issues...Restarted his rehab on May 27...Returned from his rehab assignment and was reinstated off the 60-day injured list on June 2 after missing SF’s first 59 games of the season...Landed back on the 10-day injured list on June 17 with a left oblique strain…Suffered the injury the day prior while taking extra swings on the Giants’ off day...Removed from the 10-day IL on Aug. 4 after missing 40 more games…Hit a 415-foot home run in his first game back at Pittsburgh on Aug. 5, then the next day he hit a 442-foot blast…However, he exited the game on Aug. 6 after pulling his right hamstring while trying to beat out an infield single...Made his third trip to the IL on Aug. 7 with a right hamstring strain...Activated on Sept. 13 after missing another 32 games...In total, missed 131 games between the three injuries...Was 11-for-55 (.200) with two home runs and seven RBI in 19 games with SF...Played for the Águilas Cibaenas of the Dominican Winter League following the season...Hit two homers with 11 RBI in 14 games...That was his fourth consecutive offseason playing for the Águilas.

2024

Hit .366 with 33 runs, 19 home runs, 36 RBI and a 1.429 OPS in 26 games for Oaxaca, his first season in the Mexican League...Prior to his release to join the Giants, Encarnacion was leading the Mexican League in home runs, runs scored and OPS...Signed with the Giants on May 22 and reported to SF’s Arizona complex...Joined Triple-A Sacramento on June 15...Posted a 1.054 OPS in 146 plate appearances with the River Cats, slashing .352/.438/.616 with three doubles, 10 homers, 33 RBI and 21 runs scored (33 games)...Appeared in 35 games for SF after having his contract selected from Triple-A on Aug. 2...Was his first MLB action since 2022 with Miami...Hit his first homer with SF in his second game with the Giants on Aug. 3 at Cincinnati...Launched a go-ahead, two-run homer to start the 10th inning on Aug. 18 at Oakland that lifted the Giants to a win.

2023

Spent the entire season at Triple-A Jacksonville...He slashed .228/.347/.452 (.799 OPS) with 63 runs, 17 doubles, 26 home runs and 76 RBI in 122 games...His 26 homers and 76 RBI were both career bests, but he also struck out a career-high 200 times...Outrighted off the 40-man roster on July 21 and remained with Miami’s organization...Elected free agency at the end of the season.

2022

Jerar Encarnacion appeared in 23 games across two stints with Miami this season after making his Major League debut June 19 at New York-NL...Hit a grand slam for his first career hit, becoming the ninth Major League player since 2000 to accomplish this feat...Became the first Dominican-born player to hit a grand slam in his debut and the second Marlin to do it, joining Jeremy Hermida (Aug. 31, 2005)...Also recorded an OF assist and a stolen base in his debut, making him the first player since at least 1901 to do all three in their big league debut...Went 14-for-77 (.182) with three doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI...Made 10 starts at LF, nine at RF and two at DH...In 68 games with Triple-A Jacksonville, posted .803 OPS with 12 doubles, 14 home runs and 40 RBI...Entered the 2022 season as the Marlins No. 24 prospect according to MLB.com...Played in 23 games for Aguilas Cibaenas in the Dominican Winter League following the season, leading his team with a .333 AVG, .438 OBP and .950 OPS with five doubles, three home runs and 17 RBI.

Appeared in 63 games for Double-A Pensacola in 2021. Appeared in 28 games in right field, 17 games at first base, 12 games in left field and eight games as the designated hitter...Hit .222 with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 28 RBI. 

2020

Jerar Luis Encarnación did not play in 2020 but spent the season at the Marlins Alternate training site in Jupiter... Enters the 2021 season as the Marlins No. 23 prospect according to MLB.com.

2019

Split his breakout 2019 season between Single-A Clinton and High-A Jupiter, combining to play in 135 games and hitting .276 with 26 doubles, a triple, 16 home runs and a Marlins Minor League system leading 71 RBI...Played 68 games in Clinton, hitting .298 with 16 doubles, 10 home runs and 43 RBI; in 67 games in Jupiter, hit .253 with 10 doubles, a triple, six home runs, and 28 RBI...Finished the season with 18 outfield assists. Had 13 outfield assists in 63 games in Clinton and five in 32 games...Played for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League at the end of the season and launched a game-deciding grand slam in the Championship Game off of now teammate Sterling Sharp, who was pitching for the Washington Nationals organization before he was picked by the Marlins in the Rule 5 Draft...Hit .269 with three home runs and 16 RBI in 19 games in the AFL
