Indians invite RHP Justin Grimm to Major League camp

The Cleveland Indians announced Thursday that they have signed free-agent RHP Justin Grimm to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League Spring Training camp.

The Cleveland Indians announced Thursday that they have signed free-agent RHP Justin Grimm to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League Spring Training camp.
Grimm, 30, owns a career Major League record of 20-23 with a 4.98 ERA in 306 games/19 starts with Texas, Chicago-NL, Kansas City and Seattle (356.0IP, 345H, 197ER, 154BB, 361SO). The Bristol, Virginia native recorded at least 50 relief appearances with the Cubs over four straight seasons, 2014-17, recording a 3.78 ERA in a career-high 73 outings in 2014 and a 1.99 ERA the following year.  
He split the 2018 campaign between the Kansas City and Seattle organizations around two trips to the Major League Disabled List with the Royals. He posted a 1.93 ERA in five September outings (1ER/4.2IP) with the Mariners to conclude the season. He began his professional career in 2010 in the Texas Rangers organization (fifth round, First-Year Player Draft) out of the University of Georgia and was acquired by the Cubs in July 2013.
