Indians announce promotions within the baseball operations leadership team

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Indians today announced the following promotions within the club’s Baseball Operations leadership group:

Promoted SKY ANDRECHECK to Assistant General Manager.

Promoted PAUL GILLISPIE to Vice President, International Scouting, JAMES HARRIS to Vice President, Player Development and VICTOR WANG to Vice President, Player Acquisitions.

Promoted ALEX ECKELMAN to Director of Hitting Development and MATT BLAKE to Director of Pitching Development.

Andrecheck, who joined the organization in May 2010, has spent the last four seasons heading the club’s Research and Development efforts. As Assistant GM, Andrecheck will continue to oversee R&D while contributing broadly across all facets of Baseball Operations.

Gillispie, who is in his 13th season with the club, has led the team’s International Scouting department for the last three years. Prior to that, Gillispie filled managerial roles in both Professional and Amateur Scouting. Harris, who will continue leading and managing the Player Development department at large, joined the club in December 2016 after spending parts of the prior 20 years in a variety of professional and collegiate sports. Wang is in his 11th season with the club, having recently served as Director of Pro Scouting. In his new role, Wang’s influence will extend across player acquisition areas.
