Graduated from Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, N.C...Attended Virginia Tech, where he made seven appearances out of the bullpen in 2020 and struck out eight batters in six innings...As a sophomore in 2019, he struck out 37 batters in 23.1 innings across 22 appearances out of the bullpen. Following the 2019 season, participated in the Cape Cod League and earned the Outstanding Relief Pitcher Award after leading the league with seven saves.

Made 26 relief appearances with the Nationals, recording 24 strikeouts in 23 innings over three stints in the Majors (May 6-May 7, May 10-July 5, July 30-Aug. 5)...Allowed one earned run in 3.2 innings (2.45 ERA) with a .167 opponents’ AVG (2x12) in his first five outings of the season...Allowed one earned run in 11.1 innings pitched May 27-June 19, holding opponents to a .128 AVG (5x39) and posting a 0.79 ERA...Allowed only two of 13 inherited runners to score. Completed rehab from April 2023 Tommy John surgery, eventually making his Major League debut on Sept. 1 vs. Chicago (NL)...Recorded a 2.04 ERA with 43 strikeouts and a .130 opponents’ average in 30 games across four Minor League levels before Major League debut...Led Minor League relievers (min. 30 IP) from Single-A to Triple-A with a .122 opponents’ average (12-for-98) during his time with Wilmington, Harrisburg and Rochester...Fanned Cody Bellinger for his first Major League strikeout...Allowed eight of nine earned runs in two of his six outings...Pitched to a 2.25 ERA (one ER/4 IP) with three strikeouts in other four outings...2024 pitch mix: four-seam (55.8%), curveball (23.1%), changeup (21.2%).

Ranked second in Washington’s Minor League system with 14 saves...Was the only player in Minor League Baseball with at least 14 saves and at least seven wins...He ranked among all Minor League pitchers (min. 59.0 IP) in opponents’ batting average (fifth, .157), ERA (eighth, 1.76) and strikeouts per 9.0 innings (14th, 13.94)...Posted a 0.68 ERA (2 ER/26.1 IP) with 37 strikeouts and a .119 opponents average (10-for-84) in 22 games from May 31 to Aug. 5...Went 7-for-7 in save opportunities during this stretch.
