Mets Vet Dog

The Amazin’ Mets Foundation has awarded grants to a range of organizations supporting military-related causes and veteran service programs, including America’s VetDogs, a national nonprofit that provides service dogs to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities.

These specially trained dogs offer enhanced mobility, independence, and companionship, empowering individuals to live with renewed pride and self-reliance.

Through Foundation support, the New York Mets partnered with the Long Island-based nonprofit to co-raise three dogs, including Buddy, the latest MetsVetDog.

Buddy completed his basic training during the 2025 season and entered formal service dog training, where he will continue his journey to assist a veteran or first responder in need.

Fans can follow each MetsVetDog’s journey on the Amazin’ Mets Foundation’s Instagram, Facebook, and X account.

The Mets were the first-ever Major League Baseball team to raise a future service dog with America’s VetDogs.
