All-Stars to tweet from ballpark during #ASG

With all eyes focused on Citi Field this week, baseball is encouraging fans across the globe to use special hashtags on social media throughout the All-Star festivities.

During Monday's Chevrolet Home Run Derby (@chevrolet, #HRDerby), the 48 All-Stars who have active accounts were able to engage fans on Twitter from computer stations set up on the field. Players could also use the computer stations -- and their own personal devices -- for other social media, including Facebook and Instagram.

The same is true for the 84th All-Star Game (@MLB, #ASG) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Once again, players will have access to clubhouse computers -- a collaboration between MLB, the Players Association, MLB Advanced Media, ESPN and FOX -- that they can use to reach out to fans once they've left the game.

Fans can also download the official MLB.com Home Run Derby Game, featuring 24 sluggers from the 2010-12 Home Run Derby events. Connect and challenge gamers on the worldwide leaderboards. Available for free on the Apple App Store.
