Astros prospect hits his eighth of the season, as Santurce tops Ponce in PR

Santurce 4, Ponce 2
Jonathan Singleton led the way for Santurce in the win, going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the sixth. The Astros No. 2 prospect now has eight homers on the season and is slugging .573 -- both of which lead the Puerto Rican Winter League. Jeff Dominguez and Jose Morales added three hits apiece. Joseph Colon got his first win of the season, while Yuki Egarashi took his second loss.

Caguas 4, Carolina 2

Behind some timely hits and a solid pitching performance, Caguas got the win over Carolina. Michael Nix tossed six innings, allowing one run on four hits for his second win of the season. Yuya Iida took his first loss, allowing four runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Venezuelan Winter League

Magallanes 6, Caribes 4 (10 innings)
Caribes thought the game was wrapped up after scoring two runs in the top of the 10th inning. But Magallanes plated four in the bottom half of the extra frame to secure the win. Lew Ford had an RBI single, before Adonis Garcia hit a walk-off three-run home run.

Aragua 5, Lara 4 (10 innings)
In this back-and-forth contest, it was Aragua who got the win by scoring four runs in the final three frames. Wilson Ramos and Luis Hernandez each had two hits. Reliever Cesar Jimenez got the loss, while Victor Moreno got the win.

Zulia 8, Caracas 1
Scoring early and often, Zulia belted out 13 hits in Friday's win. Ender Inciarte went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Sandy Leon went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Victor Garate took his third loss of the season, allowing five runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.

La Guaira 10, Margarita 4
Behind a six-run sixth inning, La Guaira cruised to victory over Margarita, belting out 12 hits. Rene Reyes led the way, going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. White Sox No. 8 prospect Carlos Sanchez also went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Polin Trinidad took his first loss of the season.

Mexican Pacific League

Guasave 3, Mazatlan 1 (10 innings)
Scoring two runs in the 10th inning, Guasave earned the comeback victory. Leonardo Heras went 2-for-3 and Jesus Cota went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Reliever Alan Guerrero took the win, while Rafael Diaz got the loss.

Obregon 4, Mexicali 2
Scoring three first-inning runs proved to be enough for Obregon. Robert Saucedo went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Carlos Valencia and Dan Robertson also had two hits. Marco Carrillo got his second win of the season, while Misael Siverio took the loss.

Navojoa 9, Los Mochis 4
Navojoa cruised to victory, as all but one starter had a hit. Rolando Acosta went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and three other Navojoa players had two hits. Alejandro Soto got his third win of the season, while Marco Quevedo took his fourth loss.

Hermosillo 6, Culiacan 3 (11 innings)
Three runs in the 11th inning boosted Hermosillo to victory on Friday night. With 17 hits, the biggest of the night came on a three-run double by Jose Aguilar in the 11th. Jesus Castillo got the win, while Jorge Reyes took the loss.

Dominican Winter League

Gigantes 7, Aguilas 1
Scoring early and often, Gigantes belted out 14 hits in the win. Wilson Betemit and Francisco Peguero each had three hits, but it was Juan Silverio who had the big hit of the night, smashing a home run and collecting four RBIs.

Escogido 4, Licey 2
The scoring was done early in this game, with a three-run second inning securing the victory for Escogido. That big inning came on a three-run shot by Erik Gonzalez. Brett Tomko picked up his first win, while Yunesky Maya got the loss.

Estrellas 8, Toros 5
Behind a four-run first inning, Estrellas was able to fend off Toros and hold on for the victory. Alfredo Marte went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Alex Valdez also went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.
