Bo Jackson to Throw Out First Pitch

Usually the person on the receiving end of a ceremonial first pitch will treat the moment casually. But whoever is slated to catch the first pitch at Opening Day for the Chicago White Sox on Monday may want to wear full catcher's gear. The White Sox announced earlier today that Bo Jackson will throw out the first pitch on Monday at U.S. Cellular Field.

Arguably the greatest athlete of all time, I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson still had quite the cannon and decided to show it off on Monday. Jackson was a member of the White Sox from 1991-93. Before that, he was a member of the Kansas City Royals from 1986-90. Ironically, it's the Royals that come to the south side of Chicago that day.

As far as people to choose for this honor, it's hard to beat Bo Jackson. Bo was a guy who climbed walls, broke bats over his head and possessed one of the deadliest arms in baseball before a hip injury unfortunately cut his career short. It'll be great to see Bo make a brief return to U.S. Cellular Field.

Makes me wish that I could be there to witness it in person. Well, almost...
