Valentine signs on as Sacred Heart's AD

Bobby Valentine has found a new job.
The 62-year-old former Major League manager of 16 seasons, most recently during Boston's disappointing 2012 campaign, has accepted the position of athletics director at Sacred Heart University, the Connecticut Post reported Thursday evening.
The report said Valentine is to be introduced Tuesday. The Post first reported in late January that Valentine was a candidate for the opening.
Despite Valentine's tumultuous tenure in Boston, which consisted of much controversy leading to the Red Sox's final record of 69-93, he had a successful managerial career in the U.S. and Japan.
He has a career Major League record of 1,186-1,165 with the Rangers, Mets and Red Sox, including winning the 2000 National League pennant with New York.
