Carrillo, Yaquis roll to second straight title

Cubs farmhand Marco Carrillo struck out six over six shutout innings and the Yaquis used a 25-hit assault to complete a four-game sweep of Guasave and defend their championship. Cubs newcomer Alfredo Amezaga went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Carlos Valencia had four hits, including a solo shot, and three runs scored for Obregon. Sergio Contreras chipped in four hits, drove in five runs and scored three times for the Yaquis and former Braves Minor Leaguer Iker Franco homered, doubled, plated three runs and scored three more. Martin Maldonado went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, helping the Indios capture their seventh championship in 15 years. Fellow Brewers farmhand Sergio Miranda delivered a two-run double in a three-run third inning that put Mayaguez ahead for good. Former Major Leaguer Bobby Livingston notched his second playoff win after limiting the Criollos to two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.
