Reds set to call SF home for Game 1 of doubleheader

Cincinnati schedules makeup date at AT&T Park for rained-out home game vs. Giants

CINCINNATI -- The Reds and Giants will play a unique doubleheader on July 23 to make up for their rained-out game at Great American Ball Park on July 4. The postponed game will start at 7:05 p.m. ET at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

It will be part of a traditional doubleheader against the Giants, with Game 2 scheduled to begin at 10:15 p.m. ET at the earliest, or approximately 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1.

In a quirk during Game 1, the Reds will be the home team and wear their home uniforms, while the Giants will be the visitors in their own ballpark, wearing road grays.

The Reds announced that fans with tickets to the originally scheduled July 4 game may exchange them at face value for any Monday-through-Thursday 2013 regular-season home game, excluding Aug. 6 against the A's, and subject to availability. They may not be exchanged for the makeup game in San Francisco.

Rain checks may be exchanged at Great American Ball Park ticket windows in advance of gameday only.

If fans ordered tickets online at reds.com or over the phone through Ticketmaster, they can contact Ticketmaster customer service at 1-800-745-3000 to exchange tickets.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the first game of the doubleheader is statistically a road game for the Reds, even though they will bat last as the home team.

That means that the Reds will finish the season with 80 home games and 82 road games.
