Jackson exits workout early with back issues

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Outfielder/first baseman Conor Jackson said Wednesday morning that his sore back is "definitely better" than the previous day, and he will continue to get treatment and rest another day.

Jackson, who left Tuesday's workout, will see how he feels on Thursday. The Orioles played a pair of intrasquad games on Wednesday in advance of Saturday's first Grapefruit League game.

"It's frustrating, to say the least," Jackson, a non-roster invitee, said of dealing with an injury in a new organization. "Obviously you want to make an impression, and it's hard to make an impression when you're not on the field. Just got to treat it until it gets better, and get back out there and play baseball."

Catcher Luis Martinez also left Tuesday's workout early with a strained left oblique that he will continue to get treatment on.
