Dave Winfield's favorite player: Giancarlo Stanton

Dave Winfield knows what it means to be a great outfielder. The Hall of Famer was a 12-time All-Star who won seven Gold Glove Awards and six Silver Slugger Awards.

Winfield's favorite big leaguer to watch these days? Giancarlo Stanton.

Stanton is the premier power hitter in the game, known for his mammoth home runs. The Marlins slugger already has 154 homer through five seasons in the Majors. He's getting better each year, too, having finished second to Clayton Kershaw in last season's National League MVP Award voting.

In the above interview clip with MLB.com, Winfield explains what he enjoys most about the Miami masher.

And be sure to explore other former big leaguers' favorite current players.
