DraftKings picks: Trout could pounce on Rays

Jason Kipnis (Indians): Hitting .338 with 27 RBIs and 41 runs scored across 228 at-bats, the second baseman has been among the best at his position this season. Kipnis could reach base often or score multiple runs from his perch atop Cleveland's lineup when he faces Mariners righty Taijuan Walker (5.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP in 2015).

Michael Brantley (Indians): Since the outset of the 2014 season, the outfielder has posted a difference-making .329/.389/.515 slash line against right-handers such as Walker. Brantley could be stacked with Kipnis, in hopes that the former can drive in the latter several times.

Pedro Alvarez (Pirates): The first baseman has long fared best vs. right-handers, against whom he owns a lifetime .794 OPS (.578 vs. lefties). He could display his power or drive in multiple runs against Brewers righty Kyle Lohse, who owns a 6.59 ERA with 14 homers allowed in 12 starts this season. Alvarez could also benefit from hitting into a Brewers defense that ranks 23rd in the Majors with a .680 defensive efficiency ratio.

Anthony Rizzo (Cubs): With 11 homers, 10 steals and a 1.057 OPS across 245 plate appearances, Rizzo has been among the Majors' most productive players this season. The first baseman could drive in multiple runs when he puts his lifetime .851 OPS against right-handers (.754 vs. lefties) on the line against Tigers righty Shane Greene (career 4.51 ERA, 1.37 WHIP).

Miguel Montero (Cubs): Montero could offer DraftKings participants a productive catcher option when he brings his career .795 OPS against right-handers (.655 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Greene (5.40 ERA in 2015). As a big leaguer, Greene has allowed left-handed hitters such as Montero to produce an .825 OPS (.667 OPS allowed to righty batters).

Mike Trout (Angels): The superstar outfielder could be worth a large expenditure by DraftKings participants when he brings his impressive career .311/.395/.565 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with Rays righty Erasmo Ramirez (career 4.71 ERA).

Kole Calhoun (Angels): Calhoun could be involved in plenty of run production from the cleanup spot when he faces Ramirez, who has a 5.10 ERA this season. The outfielder could display his power, as he has registered 26 of his 30 career homers against right-handers. Also work in Calhoun's favor: Ramirez has produced a lifetime 1.2 HR/9 rate.

Erick Aybar (Angels): The shortstop -- who possesses balanced career splits -- could score multiple runs out of the leadoff spot against Ramirez (career 4.52 FIP). DraftKings participants may choose to include Aybar in a stack that could cover most of the premium spots in the Halos lineup.

Jose Altuve (Astros): With a lifetime .352/.394/.485 slash line vs. left-handers, the second baseman owns a potent bat in those matchups. He could reach base multiple times against White Sox lefty Jose Quintana (career 1.27 WHIP). Additionally, Altuve could swipe a base against catcher Tyler Flowers, who sometimes struggles to thwart would-be basestealers.

Paul Goldschmidt (D-backs): The first baseman will bring his lofty lifetime .325/.417/.602 slash line against left-handers into a matchup with Brett Anderson, who has posted a 1.30 WHIP this season. Goldschmidt may be part of a productive offensive output, as Arizona -- with several key hitters who have traditionally fared best vs. southpaws -- leads the National League with 267 runs.

A.J. Pollock (D-backs): Hitting .321 with seven homers and 14 steals across 236 plate appearances this season, Pollock has been among the most productive outfielders in the Majors. He could continue to shine when he puts his lifetime .870 OPS against left-handers (.751 vs righties) on the line against Anderson (career 1.29 WHIP).

Adrian Gonzalez (Dodgers): The first baseman could improve on his impressive career .912 OPS against right-handers (.774 vs. lefties) when he faces D-backs righty Jeremy Hellickson, the owner of a 4.88 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP this season.

Joc Pederson (Dodgers): During his brief career, Pederson has ripped 14 round-trippers across 178 at-bats against right-handers, which has helped him compile an .898 OPS in those matchups (.843 vs. lefties). Hitting atop a Dodgers lineup that leads baseball with an .802 OPS against righties, the youngster could pace an offensive outburst against Hellickson (4.97 ERA since 2013).

Charlie Morton (Pirates): Morton has produced a 3.48 ERA -- which factors in a 2.84 mark across three 2015 starts -- since the outset of the 2013 season. The right-hander could continue to compile quality frames when he plies his trade at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Brewers lineup that ranks 23rd in the Majors with a .676 OPS vs. righties.

Tyson Ross (Padres): The right-hander has been hampered by control woes this season, but he has nonetheless used his dominant arsenal to produce a 3.15 FIP and a 10.1 K/9 rate. Ross could accumulate several quality innings and whiffs when he pitches at offense-suppressing Turner Field against a Braves lineup that ranks 29th in the Majors with 37 homers.

Trevor Bauer (Indians): Bauer has started to harness his elite stuff, as evidenced by his 2.94 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this season. The righty -- who has fanned 70 batters across 70 1/3 innings in 2015-- could compile effective innings and strikeouts against a Mariners lineup that ranks 27th in the Majors with a .667 OPS vs. righties.

Matt Harvey (Mets): With few high-end hurlers on the docket, DraftKings participants may opt for the consistent excellence of Harvey (career 2.54 ERA, 0.98 WHIP). Facing the Giants at his pitcher-friendly home park -- where he has posted a lifetime 2.09 ERA -- the right-hander could compile quality frames and build on his impressive career 9.9 K/9 rate.
