Favorite Photos from 2023, Part 1

December 20, 2023

There were 81 regular season games and two Postseason games held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards this year. That number does not include the numerous community events, hours of practice, and memories made at The Yard this season.

Over the course of the 2023 season, I took over 500,000 photos. Not all of the photos were good or in focus, but from those hundreds of thousands of photos came handfuls of walk-offs, celebrations, immense emotion, feats of athleticism, a Postseason clinch, an American League East Division title, and an amazing number of candid moments.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but these moments are worth so much more to the fans, the employees, and the players. I selected many of these photos as my favorites from the season because of the emotions, the moments, and the way that they showcase everything this team overcame to have a historic year of baseball, and one that we will all remember forever.

I selected the following photos because I found them to best represent the camaraderie and joy of the team. Each photo incorporates the excitement that was felt throughout Camden Yards this season. Whether it was game action, fans cheering, or a walk-off celebration, each photo tells its own story of the season.

There is nothing like seeing Oriole Park fill with fans prior to a big game. As soon as you hear the "O" you know it is time to get to business. These photos remind me of those unforgettable moments.

After a big moment, I always look for the pitcher’s reaction. I focused on Grayson Rodriguez after this strikeout to capture his raw emotion.

There is nothing better than a walk-off home run followed by an ice cold bath. One of my favorite parts is the variety of emotions on each player’s face captured in each individual photo.

One of the most memorable moments of the season did not happen on the field, but instead as part of weekly arrival photos where the players can show off their gameday outfits. This photo went viral and led to fans of all ages dressing in similar tracksuits.

Everyone loves "Adley Hugs," but I wanted to focus on the fans celebrating the win with them.
