Phanatic & Special Guests Bring Phillies Fun to Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware
Ahead of the 10th annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Day at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies and Nemours Children’s Health brought some much-needed Phillies fun directly to childhood cancer patients receiving treatment at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, at a special pep rally held earlier this week.
Hundreds of patients, families and Nemours staff, were in attendance as well as the Phillie Phanatic, Ballgirls, 1993 National League champions Mickey Morandini and Milt Thompson, 1980 World Series champion Dickie Noles and Phillies ambassador Scott Palmer, who emcee’d the festivities.
As part of the fun, 15-year-old Alivia Eder of Newark, Del, who will throw out the first pitch at Sunday’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Day game, was surprised with a visit from the Phanatic and a personalized Phillies jersey.
