Phillies and King Swings Deliver Heartfelt Backyard Makeover

The Summer of Giving presented by The GIANT Company has officially begun!

Earlier this week, the Phillies and King Swings, the team’s Official Playground Partner, joined forces to deliver a special backyard transformation for the Hoffman family from Wynnewood, Pa.

Sisters Izzy, 4, and Grey, 11, who recently lost their father, Lou, at age 40 to a rare disease, returned home with their mother, Miriam, to find the Phillie Phanatic and special guests waiting for them in their backyard.

Volunteers from both organizations put together a brand-new Phillies-themed swing set, along with a new doghouse for the family’s new puppy, all built and donated by King Swings, led by owner & CEO Elmer King. The transformation also included new gardens and landscaping, as well as custom Phillies jerseys for each of the family members, presented by Mickey Morandini, Dickie Noles and Milt Thompson.

The Phillies worked with Peter’s Place, which provides grief counselling to families who have experienced loss, to find the Hoffman family make this special makeover happen.
