Rizzo, Cubs could rake on road vs. Phillies

The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Friday.

Anthony Rizzo (Cubs): Hitting .285 with 29 homers and 15 steals across 597 plate appearances this season, the first baseman possesses a diverse skill set that is matched by few players at his position. Rizzo could contribute in multiple ways when he travels to hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park to face rookie righty Alec Asher, who has posted a 10.61 ERA and a 2.04 WHIP across his first two big league starts.

Chris Coghlan (Cubs): The outfielder has long fared best against right-handers, against whom he has produced a career .781 OPS (.627 vs. lefties). From a premium lineup position, Coghlan could score multiple runs when he faces the inexperienced Asher at Philadelphia's hitter-friendly venue.

Miguel Montero (Cubs): The catcher has produced pronounced career splits, with a .793 OPS against right-handers compared with a .660 mark vs. lefties. Montero will be in position to rip a roundtripper or drive in multiple runs at the expense of Asher. Also of note: Montero and his teammates will attempt to put balls into play against a Phillies squad that ranks last in the Majors with a .666 defensive efficiency ratio.

Kris Bryant (Cubs): The rookie third baseman will be poised to improve on his .867 OPS against right-handers (.785 vs. lefties) when he meets up with Asher at Philadelphia's homer-happy park. Bryant may also swipe his 13th base of the season against catcher Carlos Ruiz, who has thwarted 10 of 54 would-be basestealers in 2015.

Alex Gordon (Royals): The outfielder will be in position to improve on his lifetime .803 OPS against right-handers (.752 vs. lefties) when he vacates his pitcher-friendly home park and bats at offense-inducing Camden Yards against rookie righty Mike Wright (5.19 ERA, 1.44 WHIP).

Eric Hosmer (Royals): From the cleanup spot, Hosmer could drive in multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .805 OPS against right-handers (.682 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Wright (5.15 FIP) at Baltimore's hitter-friendly venue.

Paul Goldschmidt (D-backs): With a lifetime .329/.423/.602 slash line against left-handers, the first baseman has proved to wield a potent bat in those matchups. Goldschmidt -- who is hitting .317 with 27 homers and 21 steals across 607 plate appearances this season -- may be worth a major expenditure in DraftKings contests when he bats at his hitter-friendly home park against Dodgers southpaw Alex Wood (1.39 WHIP in 2015).

A.J. Pollock (D-backs): Hitting .314 with 16 homers, 94 runs and 33 steals across 574 plate appearances, the outfielder is coming down the home stretch of an impressive breakout season. Pollock could excel when he brings his lifetime .852 OPS against left-handers (.782 vs. righties) into a home matchup against Wood.

Prince Fielder (Rangers): The slugger will be in position to thrive when he brings his lofty lifetime .957 OPS against right-handers (.795 vs. lefties) into a matchup at his hitter-friendly home park against A's righty Jesse Chavez (career 4.55 ERA, 1.39 WHIP). Fielder may also excel late in the game against an A's bullpen that ranks 27th in the Majors with a 4.47 ERA.

Shin-Soo Choo (Rangers): The outfielder has produced notable lifetime splits, with a .905 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .669 mark vs. lefties. Choo could drive in multiple runs at his offense-inducing home park against Chavez (4.17 ERA, 1.36 WHIP in 2015) and a suspect A's relief corps.

Jason Heyward (Cardinals): Hitting .287 with 11 homers and 21 steals across 526 plate appearances, the outfielder has contributed to DraftKings squads in multiple ways this season. Heyward has the plate skills to reach base often when he brings his lifetime .835 OPS against right-handers (.658 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Reds rookie righty Michael Lorenzen (5.54 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). He also has the speed to swipe a bag against catcher Brayan Pena, who has thwarted 12 of 67 would-be basestealers this season.

Matt Carpenter (Cardinals): Hitting out of a premium lineup position, the third baseman will be primed to improve on his career .838 OPS against right-handers (.763 vs. lefties) when he faces Lorenzen (5.61 FIP). With 21 homers across 492 at-bats this season, Carpenter has nearly doubled his previous career high.

Robinson Cano (Mariners): Hitting .328 since July 1, the second baseman is back on track after a slow start to the season. Cano could have a terrific game when he brings his impressive lifetime .317/.364/.522 slash line against right-handers into a matchup with righty Chad Bettis (career 5.78 ERA, 1.62 WHIP). He may also excel late in the game against a Rockies relief corps that ranks last in the Majors with a 4.85 ERA.

Kyle Seager (Mariners): The third baseman will be poised to drive in multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .796 OPS against right-handers (.710 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Bettis (4.95 ERA, 1.46 WHIP in 2015). Also of note: Seager and his teammates will attempt to put balls into play against a Rockies squad that ranks 29th in the Majors with a .671 defensive efficiency ratio.

Jake Peavy (Giants): With a 4.41 ERA, the right-hander may be an economical option in DraftKings contests when he works at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Padres lineup that ranks 25th in the Majors with a .695 OPS against righties.

Dallas Keuchel (Astros): With a 2.29 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP on the year, the left-hander has been one of the most effective starters in the American League this season. Keuchel could continue his impressive campaign when he works at pitcher-friendly Angel Stadium against a Halos lineup that ranks 28th in the Majors with a .657 OPS against southpaws.

Steven Matz (Mets): The left-hander -- who owns a 1.89 ERA across three Major League starts -- may spin a gem when he faces the Braves at pitcher-friendly Turner Field. Atlanta ranks last in the Majors with 86 homers and 29th with a .646 OPS against southpaws.
