Frenchy Orders Pizza For Fans

Jeff Francoeur of the Kansas City Royals has connected to fans on a whole new level, even fans of an opposing team. Over the years, Francoeur has interacted with a group of Oakland A's fans who loyally inhabit the right field stands at The Coliseum. Last year, he tossed these fans a ball wrapped in a $100 bill suggesting they use it to buy bacon and beer. Their bond was taken to a whole new level this week, when fans had their self-proclaimed Bacon Tuesday, wearing "Second Annual Bacon Fest Sponsored by Jeff Francoeur" shirts that they presented to him.

“Baseball to me is fun," said Francoeur to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. "We can take it too seriously sometimes. It’s nights like last night that makes it a lot of fun to play this game. It’s something more than just baseball. It’s interacting with fans and having an experience you can talk about.”

To return the favor, Francoeur purchased 20 pizzas for the fans in that section last night. Seriously.
