High School Team Pulls Off Bases-Loaded Triple Play
Working out of a jam.
The Menlo School-Atherton found itself in a tight spot in its playoff matchup with Capuchino San-Bruno on Wednesday. Trailing 2-1 in the final inning, Capuchino San-Bruno loaded the bases with nobody out. However, Menlo shortstop Mikey Diekroeger made a diving catch on a line drive up the middle, tagged second and threw to first to complete the game-ending triple play.
This isn't the first time we've seen an incredible defensive effort end a game.
