IronPigs Give Away Free Funeral
Baseball is the greatest game in the world. In fact, it’s to die for!
At least that's what the Lehigh Valley IronPigs think. The IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, gave away a $10,000 funeral in their most recent promotion. I’m not joking.
Fans were asked to submit an essay describing why they deserved a free funeral. The winner, 61-year-old Bill Hirchman, beat out more than 50 other entrants. In his essay, Hirchman promised to wear an IronPigs t-shirt at his funeral.
I live and die for baseball. But this promotion takes it to the next level!
Steve Paul announced as the winner of the funeral giveaway, and he gets a standing ovation from the crowd at CCP
