Detroit, Mich.-April 1, 2015-Following the successful launch of the people-powered Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers' (MDCD) Motor City Wheels mascot races in the 2014 baseball season, the MDCD, in partnership with the Detroit Tigers, are adding two new mascots to the lineup. "Cam Aro" and "Shelley Chevelle" will be in training and available for photos on Thursday, April 2, during Tigers Media Day between 1pm - 4pm.

Launched during the 2014 baseball season, the Motor City Wheels Mascot Race reflects the rich automotive history of Detroit, in which each mascot has its own personality, and is named after three classic Chevrolet vehicles: "Bella Air" (1957 Bel Air), "Corey Vette" (1956 Corvette) and "Petey Pickup" (1954 Chevy pickup truck).

Making their debut at the Tigers home opener on April 6, "Cam Aro" (1966 Camaro) and his sister "Shelley Chevelle" (1964 Chevelle) will join their 'cousins', the original three mascots, in the 2015 season. Races will take place at home games during the fourth inning break. At the conclusion of each race, fans will be able to text the winning mascot to a number displayed on the big screen to enter for a chance to win a Chevy Silverado.

"Detroit is a city that lives, breathes and dreams automotive and we have a tremendous amount of pride in that," Paul Stanford, president of MDCD said. "The Motor City Wheels were a big hit for Tigers fans of all ages last year. We look forward to continuing the tradition and adding additional mascots to the lineup."
