The Mets will pay tribute to the life and career of Ralph Kiner by wearing a special uniform patch during the 2014 season. Kiner served as an announcer for the Mets from the team's inception in 1962 until his death this year.

Kiner was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1975 and will be remembered as one of the most genuine characters in the game.
