MLB retains Korn Ferry to assist in interview processes

Firm will provide services to prospective candidates for key baseball positions

Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. announced today that Major League Baseball has retained the leadership search firm Korn Ferry to provide a number of support services for qualified candidates to assist in their interview preparations for key baseball operations positions. At the direction of MLB, Korn Ferry will give special emphasis to the preparation of minority and female candidates.

Korn Ferry will assist executives in developing their résumés and interview skills in an effort to enhance their candidacies and to expand networking opportunities. Korn Ferry also will present materials to Clubs ahead of their pursuits for candidates for the positions of general manager, field manager, assistant general manager, scouting director and player development director.

In addition, Minor League Baseball is actively pursuing diverse candidates for open positions at its 160 clubs across the country. The Professional Baseball Employment Opportunities (PBEO) Job Fair at the Baseball Winter Meetings will offer training and guidance to prospective employees seeking to begin their careers in affiliated professional baseball.

Commissioner Manfred said: "Korn Ferry will broaden the resources available to candidates for key positions in our game. We are proudly a sport of inclusion, and we must continue to pursue and develop more opportunities for minorities and women throughout our game, both in senior and entry-level positions. Our policy on this vital issue will ensure that active searches of outside candidates for leadership positions will include strong minority and female representation."
