That is just some of the great talent that Canada has given to Major League Baseball over the years. Now, on this Canada Day, MLB is giving back. As part of an ongoing effort to spread the best sport globally, MLB International is taking the MLB Roadshow to Canada for the second consecutive year, with the event traveling to three provinces across the country.

As Toronto's representative MLB club continues to fight at the top of the American League East standings, the MLB Roadshow heads out to the Calgary Stampede in Alberta from July 7-12. It then continues to Vancouver's Celebration of Light on July 29 and Aug. 1 and stops at Fairview Pointe Claire in Montreal from Aug. 8-9.

The MLB Roadshow, an interactive fan experience that celebrates the sport and allows fans to test their skills in the fundamentals of the game, debuted in Canada last year and has visited 13 countries on four continents: Australia, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

"The Roadshow gives people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to take part in various baseball activities and try out their skills," said Chris Park, MLB senior vice president of growth, strategy & international. "We are excited to bring the Roadshow back to Canada this summer and hope that everyone from lifelong fans to those new to the game will come out to experience this unique celebration of the sport."

Participants can experience the fun of baseball through a number of attractions, including a photo booth where fans can try on MLB caps and jerseys and pose for photos to print and take home, and batting and pitching cages where participants can showcase their baseball skills.

The event is supported by New Era, the official on-field cap supplier of MLB and Majestic Athletic, the official on-field uniform supplier of MLB, along with Canadian retailer Lids Sports Group, under its Jersey City, Game On and Lids banners. In addition, Cadillac Fairview, one of North America's largest owners, operators and developers of commercial real estate, will host the MLB Roadshow at its Fairview Pointe Claire location in Montreal for the second consecutive year.

A promotional spot featuring Dempster -- the former Major Leaguer, MLB Network analyst and native of British Columbia -- is airing on Sportsnet, a Canadian broadcast partner of MLB. Sportsnet will serve as the promotional partner through television and radio commercials, print ads and social media in Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver.
