MLB.com live video programming expands beginning March 31

Opening Day on BaseballChannel.TV highlighted by premiere of MLB.com "Whiparound"

NEW YORK -- MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, will launch an expanded lineup of free live broadcast programming via BaseballChannel.TV for the 2008 season beginning on Monday, March 31 at 9 a.m. (EDT).

The new channel lineup will include the debut of the MLB.com "Whiparound," a live 60-minute show featuring news, updates and analysis directly from the field of that day's home ballparks.

Hosted by Noah Coslov and Paul Devlin, "Whiparound" will typically air from 6-7 p.m. (EDT) every weekday, but will premiere at 12 p.m. EDT on Opening Day to preview the first full day of games.

In addition to the "Whiparound," BaseballChannel.TV will feature a host of daily programs, expert analysis from former Major League All-Star Harold Reynolds and award-winning baseball reporter Hal Bodley and live game updates.

The 2008 Opening Day schedule for BaseballChannel.TV is below:

Leading Off (9-11 a.m.) - Former Major League catcher John Marzano will join host Vinny Micucci to provide the latest news as Major League Baseball prepares for its first full slate of games.

MLB.com Fantasy 411 (11 a.m.-12 p.m.) - MLB.com fantasy experts Cory Schwartz and Mike Siano are joined by host Casey Stern to provide the latest fantasy baseball news and analysis.

MLB.com Whiparound (12-1 p.m.) - Noah Coslov and Paul Devlin host the premiere editionof MLB.com's innovative program that takes fans directly to ballparks around the country for breaking news, interviews and analysis.

Live Game Updates (1 p.m.) - The MLB.com anchor desk will be live every 30 minutes for news, scores and real-time highlights from the first pitch of Opening Day until the final out is recorded.
