MLB.com offers free preview of enhanced video stream on March 29

Three exhibition games to be shown in "NexDef" at 1.2 megabits, including Nationals Park opener

NEW YORK -- MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, will provide baseball fans with three free live previews of its most significant video streaming upgradeever on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 1:05 p.m. (EDT). The new stream, "NexDef," is being presented at a rate of 1.2 megabits per second, more than double the top rate previously available on MLB.com, and in a 16x9 widescreen format.

"We are excited to introduce this enhanced stream before Opening Day with these free previews," said Dinn Mann, executive vice president, content, MLB.com. "The NexDef plug-in elevates live online viewing to unprecedented heights. It's a straightforward, one-time install, that in a few clicks, optimizes picture quality from any high-speed connection."

Beginning on Opening Day, this new streaming rate will be available for every out-of-market regular season game via the MLB.TV Premium subscription package. Following are the three games being streamed in "NexDef" as part of the MLB.com free preview on March 29:

Cleveland Indians at Atlanta Braves, 1:10 p.m. (EDT)
Baltimore Orioles vs. Washington Nationals, 6 p.m. (EDT)
San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 9:05 p.m. (EDT)
