MLB.com releases updated version of popular 'At Bat' application on Apple App Store

NEW YORK -- MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, today announced its latest version of MLB.com At Bat, a dynamic application developed exclusively for iPhone™ and iPod® touch, is available on the Apple App Store. The launch is especially timed as baseball fans turn their attention from the excitement of the 2008 regular season and postseason to the Hot Stove and Baseball Winter Meetings from Las Vegas.

This free offseason version of the MLB.com At Bat app offers a scrollable video library that features FastCast, a quick daily recap of the news around baseball, as well as comprehensive coverage of the Hot Stove and Baseball Winter Meetings, including breaking news, interviews and analysis provided by Harold Reynolds and Hal Bodley, among others. Additional video content will include a compilation of short-form video features such as offseason reviews and 2009 previews for each Major League club, tributes to some of the game's greatest players, recaps from MLB.com's collection of Baseball's Best and reports from other offseason events such as the Arizona Fall League, Hall of Fame induction announcement and Caribbean Series.

The latest MLB.com At Bat version is available for free through Feb. 23, 2009, from Apple's App Store on iPhone™ and iPod® touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
