New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week events continue

On Tuesday, Dec. 28, the head coaches and select players from Syracuse and Kansas State joined New Era Pinstripe Bowl representatives in the ringing of the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell. Following that, members of the Kansas State team, including head coach Bill Snyder, visited with patients at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. Both teams held their Tuesday practices at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.

In addition, the New Era Pinstripe Bowl held its kickoff event, postponed from Monday, at the Times Square Visitor Center, where they were joined by Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira, Syracuse alum Don McPherson, Kansas State Director of Athletics John Currie and cast members of the Broadway hit Rock of Ages, who will perform at halftime.

8:00 a.m.: Breakfast for teams at Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square (closed to media).
9:15 a.m.: Media Bus No. 1 departs the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge for Yankee Stadium.
10:30 a.m.: Press Gate opens at Yankee Stadium.
10:45 a.m.: Syracuse team walk-through at Yankee Stadium. Photo/Video opportunity during entrance to the field only.

On hand to watch the final walkthrough will be youth from the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx and the Bronx Youth Tackle Football League. Following the walkthrough, Syracuse head coach and Bronx native Doug Marron,e along with select Syracuse players, will host a question-and-answer session with the youth groups during a luncheon held in the Yankee Stadium FedEx Meeting and Conference Center.

11:00 a.m.: Media Bus No. 2 departs the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge for Yankee Stadium.
11:45 a.m.: Syracuse team photo in the left-field bleachers. Open to photo/video.12:30 p.m.: Head coaches' press conference at Yankee Stadium in the press conference room on the service level, followed by photo opportunity with the George M. Steinbrenner trophy
1:00 p.m.: Kansas State team walkthrough at Yankee Stadium (closed to media).
1:30 p.m.: Press Gate closes at Yankee Stadium
4:00 p.m.: Wives' experience at Kenneth Cole (closed to media)

Empire State lighting: On Wednesday night, the Empire State Building will split its world-famous tower lights for Syracuse University and Kansas State University to celebrate the first-ever New Era Pinstripe Bowl. The North and South sides of the building will be lit Syracuse orange and white, while the West and East sides will be lit purple and white for Kansas State. A recommended spot to get footage of the lights is on Bowery between Canal and Houston Streets.

All media must have a credential to attend any events during Bowl Week. The New Era Pinstripe Bowl credential is applicable for all entry to all events open to the media during the bowl week. Syracuse University and Kansas State University will play each other in the first-ever New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 30 at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:22 p.m. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN and can also be heard nationally on ESPN Radio.
