Parra's Good Luck Charm

The Arizona Diamondbacks are doing their best to right the ship and get back into the thick of the NL West race. In order to do so, they are going to need solid pitching, timely hitting and even a bit of luck.

It seems that they have found at least a bit of that luck in the form of an elderly woman in San Diego.

Before Gerardo Parra’s at-bat in the top of the seventh inning on Sunday, he asked an elderly woman sitting near the on-deck circle to touch his bat for good luck. He said that if he got a hit he would give her the bat. This seemingly meaningless bet led to Parra crushing a two-run blast (only his 3rd of the year) that put the D’Backs up by six runs.

Being a man of his word, Parra gave the lady the bat.

Not sure she would make the move, but I think the team should at least offer to bring her on the road until the luck runs out.
