At the end of the 2012 MLB Season, R.A. Dickey was awarded the National League Cy Young, becoming the first knuckleballer to ever win the award. After a few months, and some outstanding off-season transactions by the Toronto Blue Jays, it was fate that brought Dickey to Toronto.
Some even think that the 38-year-old’s destiny was set in 1986, at the age of 12.
In fact, on March 23, he tweeted this picture showing him sporting a Blue Jays jersey.

By process of elimination, Dickey is the third player from the left in the back row.
He is not the first kid on the right in the front row, Dickey is a good pitcher. Not a ‘belly itcher.’
He is not the first player on the right in the back row. That kid looks defeated. Dickey spent the majority of 10 seasons in the minors but didn’t give up, making the most of each opportunity he was presented.
Dickey is not the kid second from the right in the back row. That Blue Jay seems to have no sense of adventure or aspirations. Dickey displayed both by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, fulfilling a boyhood dream and raising awareness of the issue of human trafficking.
Lastly, I believe Dickey is the player third from the left in the back row, frankly because it looks like him. Look at a picture from when he was a first round pick with the Texas Rangers - You’ll see it too.
Oh, and if I’m completely wrong, sorry, Dickey!
