Padres, Braves could wield big bats

The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Friday.

Bryce Harper (Nationals): Hitting .343 with 25 homers and 60 RBIs across 265 at-bats, Harper has been among the best hitters in baseball this season. The outfielder could put a ball into the outfield seats when he vacates his pitcher-friendly home park and faces righty Chris Tillman (career 1.2 HR/9 rate) at homer-happy Camden Yards.

Michael Taylor (Nationals): With six homers and eight steals across 239 plate appearances, Taylor has been a cost-effective outfielder for DraftKings participants on several occasions this season. He could be part of an economical Nationals stack -- which could also include first baseman Clint Robinson -- against Tillman (5.57 ERA, 1.56 WHIP in 2015).

Joey Votto (Reds): The first baseman has excelled against right-handers to the tune of a .973 OPS (.882 vs. lefties). He could drive in multiple runs when he faces Marlins righty David Phelps, who boasts a 4.17 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP in his career.

Rougned Odor (Rangers): Since being recalled on June 15, Odor has hit .357 with three homers and four steals across 79 plate appearances. The second baseman could reach base often or score multiple runs when he faces Padres right-hander Ian Kennedy, who has posted a 5.23 FIP during an inconsistent 2015 season.

Matt Kemp (Padres): The outfielder has long fared best vs. left-handers, against whom he has a lifetime .930 OPS (.794 vs. righties). Kemp could rip a round-tripper when he vacates his pitcher-friendly home venue and hits at offense-inducing Globe Life Park in Arlington against southpaw Wandy Rodriguez (career 1.34 WHIP).

Jedd Gyorko (Padres): Hitting .230 across 152 at-bats this season, the second baseman could have an economical cost in DraftKings contests when he brings a career .767 OPS against left-handers (.645 mark vs. righties) into a matchup with Rodriguez. Gyorko could also thrive late in the game vs. a Rangers relief corps that sits 28th in the Majors with a 4.30 ERA.

Derek Norris (Padres): Norris has produced pronounced lifetime splits, with an .843 OPS against left-handers that exceeds his .645 mark vs. righties. The catcher could provide power at a premium position when he bats at a hitter-friendly venue against Rodriguez (1.49 WHIP in 2015).

Nick Markakis (Braves): The outfielder could improve on his .379 on-base percentage when he bats at hitter-friendly Coors Field against a Rockies club that will need to plunge into its pitching depth to find a spot starter for Friday's contest. Markakis could also thrive late in the game against a bullpen that ranks last in the Majors with a 4.65 ERA.

Cameron Maybin (Braves): The outfielder, who has hit .333 with three homers and eight steals in 147 plate appearances since June 3, could contribute in multiple ways when he faces a Rockies spot starter at Colorado's hitter-friendly venue. The Rockies rank last in the Majors with a 4.90 ERA, so they may have difficulty finding effective arms to cover nine innings.

Josh Donaldson (Blue Jays): With a lofty lifetime .299/.377/.598 slash line against left-handers, the third baseman has shown he can wield a potent bat in those matchups. Donaldson -- who has compiled 21 homers, 60 RBIs and 65 runs across 383 plate appearances this season -- could thrive against Royals southpaw Danny Duffy (career 1.38 WHIP).

Kendrys Morales (Royals): Hitting .285 with 10 homers and 56 RBIs across 302 at-bats, the slugger has bounced back nicely from a rough 2014 season. He could rip a round-tripper or drive in multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .810 OPS against right-handers (.726 vs. lefties) into a matchup with the Blue Jays' fly-ball-prone righty Marco Estrada (career 1.4 HR/9 rate).

Madison Bumgarner (Giants): The model of a consistent ace, Bumgarner has posted an ERA between 2.77 and 3.37 in each season since 2010. The left-hander could continue to dominate when he plies his trade at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Phillies lineup that ranks 27th in baseball with 299 runs.

Chase Anderson (D-backs): With a 3.71 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP on the year, Anderson has been a viable second starter for DraftKings participants on several occasions. The right-hander could continue to compile quality frames when he works at pitcher-friendly Citi Field against a Mets lineup that ranks last in the Majors with a .647 OPS against righties.

Erasmo Ramirez (Rays): With a 1.18 ERA across his past seven starts, Ramirez has taken a notable step forward. He could combine several strikeouts and quality frames when he faces an Astros lineup that leads the Majors with 816 whiffs. Also, consider this: Ramirez may benefit from working in front of a Rays defense that ranks fourth in baseball with a .707 defensive efficiency ratio.

Collin McHugh (Astros): DrafKings participants who do not select Ramirez could instead opt for his mound opponent. McHugh -- who had a 2.73 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP last season -- has put his 2015 campaign back on course by posting a 2.96 ERA across his past four starts. The right-hander could thrive when he works at pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field against a Rays lineup that ranks 25th in baseball with a .673 OPS against righties. Of note: McHugh will work in front of an Astros squad that sits third in the Majors with a .709 defensive efficiency ratio.

Kendall Graveman (A's): Since being recalled on May 23, Graveman has posted a 1.78 ERA across nine starts, including 14 shutout innings in his past two outings. The right-hander could continue to compile quality frames when he faces an Indians lineup that ranks 22nd in the Majors with a .696 OPS vs. righties.
