Pipeline preview: Brewers' Nelson faces Parker, Sky Sox

Milwaukee's top pitching prospect puts hot start on line in thin air of Colorado Springs

Highlighting Wednesday's Minor League slate is a Pacific Coast League matinee between Nashville and Colorado Springs. Brewers No. 1 prospect Jimmy Nelson is scheduled to start for the Sounds and will be tested in the thin mountain air by a potent Sky Sox lineup that includes the Rockies' No. 6 prospect, Kyle Parker.

Nelson, who is ranked No. 76 on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects list, enters the game with a 2.08 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP in 39 innings this season. He has turned in quality starts in all six of his outings.

Parker will bat cleanup and play right field Wednesday for the Sky Sox. He has homered in back-to-back games and is hitting .306/.377/.574 with five home runs in 29 games this season.

The game can be viewed on MiLB.TV at 1:05 p.m. ET.

In addition to Nelson, other pitchers ranked in the Top 100 scheduled to start Wednesday are the Twins' Kohl Stewart (No. 36) and the Braves' Lucas Sims (No. 55). Fans can watch Stewart on MiLB.TV at 8 p.m.
