Players Trust to participate in 2015 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day

The trade rumors about Alex Rodriguez are true.

On Friday, Sept. 11, the New York Yankees' designated hitter will represent the Players Trust and join licensed brokers on the trading floor at Cantor Fitzgerald for the investment bank's annual Charity Day.

Cantor Fitzgerald, which had offices on floors 101-105 of the World Trade Center's North Tower, lost 658 employees - more than any other company and two-thirds of its workforce -- on Sept. 11, 2001, when terrorists flew jetliners into the buildings and killed nearly 3,000 people.

To mark the anniversary each year, the investment bank and its Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund invite celebrity guests, each representing a participating charity, to its offices where they conduct trades with the investment bank's licensed brokers and their clients. On Charity Day, 100 percent of its global revenues go to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, which distributes grants to hundreds of charities worldwide.

This year, the Players Trust was one of more than 40 charities selected to participate. Joining the Players Trust as charitable partners in 2015 are nonprofits including CC Sabathia's PitCCh In Foundation, Children in Crisis, Friends of Firefighters, Generation Rescue, Self Help Africa, Solving Kids Cancer and Wounded Warrior Project.

To date, Charity Day has raised approximately $113 million for charitable causes around the world, and since its inception the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund has raised and distributed over $270 million.
