Postseason TV viewership off to strong start

A dramatic end to the regular season and the first Wild Card round had more folks tuned into the start of the playoffs than a year ago.

TBS averaged 3.9 million viewers through its first two days of postseason coverage on Friday and Saturday, a 26 percent increase from the first two days of the 2011 playoffs.

The two Wild Card games on Friday, which put the Cardinals and Orioles in their respective Division Series, brought 4.6 million viewers. That's a 61 percent increase from the first day of coverage in 2011. Spanning all the 19 Division Series games played in 2011, there was an average of 4.2 million viewers.
