Rangers take Kiner-Falefa in fourth round

The Rangers selected prep shortstop Isaiah Kiner-Falefa with the 130th overall selection in the fourth round.

Kiner-Falefa, who went to Mid-Pacific Institute in Hawaii, is listed at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds, and he's committed to playing for San Jose State. He was a First-Team All-Interscholastic League of Honolulu selection and batted .333 in 2012. He helped Mid-Pacific win the Division I state title this season.

Kiner-Falefa is the second shortstop selection for the Rangers, whose first five picks have been shortstops and pitchers.
